China a Universal Rowdy: Time for World Nations to Rectify that

Though the India-China standoff that has been going for about a month is major news across the world, there are many facts about the conflict in general, and the aggressive nature of China in particular, that stays hidden from the casual scrutiny. Over and above that, there are many more negative facts about China which are intentionally ignored, because of China’s wealth and might, but more because of the hypocrisy prevalent in the western world. Which make the western nations go soft on a belligerent China. Then cry foul when they themselves are at the receiving end.

Even though the standoff between the two largest armies in the world is a minor one, and China is inwardly desperate to end the conflict without losing face; its actions, if ignored, may very well lead to a deadly war by China in future, with other countries, especially small ones. Nine to one chances are that it may not be an India–China war, but one with that of U S., Japan, ASEAN or other western nations. China is apprehensive of having a war with India, which is an equal power and the only one Army that can launch a massive land offensive against it, other than Russia.

Before we go into that, a better understanding of China and its actions is very necessary. Being a
Defence, Foreign affairs & Strategic Analyst, if anyone asks me to sum up China in two sentences, I will state thus: “China is a certified rowdy in international dealings, with no ethics or respect for law; with the antics and actions of a renegade nation, one much worse than North Korea. You have to understand that the actions of North Korea are directed by China in the first place. At the same time, in the arena of serious international affairs, China’s foreign Policy and actions, many a times, is like a kindergarten comedy of a mentally retarded child. These two aspects will sum up China and its policies. Invasion of Tibet, attacking Vietnam, occupying Vietnam’s islands etc is an example of the former while claiming whole of South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, South China Sea etc is an example of the latter.
China has disputes and wars with all!
China is a country that has or had disputes or conflicts / wars with all its neighboring countries. It has or had disputes with South Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Myanmar, Taiwan, Philippines, Vietnam, Russiaand Mongolia among others.
To take a sample of China’s action, in 17 February 1979 Chinese forces attacked northern Vietnam. On March 6, 1979, after getting heavy causalities, China was forced to withdraw their troops from Vietnam. Within 19 days China was retreating, being badly wounded about 13,000 soldiers of China dead in Vietnam. The speed with which China retreated from Vietnam was many times faster than the speed of its invasion of Vietnam. China termed it ‘Victorious Retreat’, may be first time in the world that a country running for its dear life from a deadly enemy, has attributed the term it ‘Victory’ to denote pathetic defeat. Vietnam achieved the defeat of China without pulling its main army from Cambodia,  but with hastily recruited  reserves.

If not for India, Bhutan & Nepal would have disappeared from world map conquered by China long before.
According to the Chinese government; South Korea, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan are all integral part of China, whose present statehood is viewed as a grave illegal mistake which should be corrected. I would say that this shows the narrow mindedness of Chinese leaders – not their claim of these countries as part of China, but what I call narrow-mindedness is the tendency by those great leaders to limit the claim to their immediate neighbours. Why not annexe US, France and Germany and make them Provinces of China? This would certainly bring a lot of territory and wealth to China. They should also think of making South Africa a part of China, there are lot of diamonds there.
I would advise the Chinese leaders to stop being so narrow minded, and include, at least these four nations as new provinces of China. When China decides to annexe these countries, I am sure that they would meekly give up all resistance, in no time. Just show them the Video of red army retreating with unbelievable haste from Vietnam with resolute purpose written all over the face - (but mind you, tell them that it is a video of Chinese army moving into Vietnam). If still any of them are imprudent enough to question the reason for annexing their country, you can say that you have proof that an emperor of Ming dynasty in 5th century BC dreamed that these should be annexed!

India has intervened on Bhutan’s behalf in the present stand off for a valid reason. China is totally unpredictable, and devoid of any moral considerations. If it decides to repeat Tibet and invade Bhutan; it will need much more effort to throw China out.
The dispute between India and China is not about Sikkim or Arunachal, it is about Yunnan province. Half of Yunnan province is an integral part of India & the other half belongs to Vietnam. Many centuries back, Indian rulers had a say over that land. Anyway this argument has much stronger basis than China’s arguments when it attacked other countries or when it cooks up a new border issue!
South China Sea Dispute
China claiming whole of South China Sea for itself is at best, a bad joke and worse, the seed of another major world conflict. It would be like India claiming the whole of Indian Ocean for itself or Europe claiming whole of Atlantic for itself. It is a very bogus and totally insane claim, and will develop into a very dangerous situation, if the world doesn’t deal with China and correct it, either by peaceful means or by force. It is not just an Asian crisis with implications for Japan, Vietnam or Philippines, but an international one. South China Sea issue is not at all a problem for India, as China will not dare to make trouble for India, because of various reasons. As the latter has armed forces as strong as the former, the punitive action will inflict huge losses for China. Unlike US or European nations, there is land boundary between two, therefore India can easily launch an attack across the border.

It has reached the threshold when, if ignored, will lead to multiple wars and prolonged conflicts. Therefore it is better to destroy it in its bud.
Therefore the onus to solve the South China Sea issue is on the western nations. India will certainly join the group. Don’t expect India to foot the whole bill alone. [At the same time I would like to point out that there are two exceptions, when India will take a lead in confronting China with respect to South China Sea. One is, if Indian ships, Aircrafts or other commercial activities like oil exploration face a difficulty in South China Sea. Second is if any of India’s close allies like Bhutan, Vietnam, Nepal etc. face a threat from China in that region.]
World action is Unavoidable
China illegally transferred Missile technology and nuclear technology to Pakistan. As the world powers and UN didn’t take any punitive action against China, they recently transferred Nuclear and Missile technologies to North Korea.
No nation should be allowed to walk away free with all these illegal actions, even in the name of maintaining peace.
The major powers of the world should come together and teach China a lesson, before it is too late. To rectify the wrong policies of China, let the world nations start with South China Sea. First and foremost, change the name of South China Sea to Vietnam Sea.
Sinking a few Chinese destroyers in South China Sea, along with shooting down their fighters, according to me, is a very good idea to send the right message, one which that China will understand.
